This is my first blog here, I guess I finally have something too say!
The Today show spent a lot of time at the Everett plant the other day and did a pretty good job of showing how amazing this place is.
To take you back a bit, my first few weeks I worked out of a plant in Frederickson. Granted it is a huge machine shop with CNC machines that mill out 80 foot long wing skins, chords and stringers, it's not THAT impressive compared to places I've worked at or toured in the past. However, the first time I stepped into the Everett plant I was truly amazed. I was like a kid arriving at Disneyland for the first time, which is fitting because Disneyland would actually fit in the Everett production building, with room to spare! I spend about half my day at the plant each day. The rest of the day I sit with the 747-8 (which is going to beat the pants off that A380 Airbus is trying to sell!) engineers where my desk is. My job is pretty unique in that I work with Engineering and Production on every commercial plane Boeing makes. A lot of my time is spent driving to one place or the other, or just keeping up with all the people I support, but I do actually work too. I help resolve production problems and I help the design engineers design the parts within manufacturing's capabilities.
Anyway, enough of my babble, here is a link to the segments the Today show did. There are a couple different segments, some more interesting then others, click on the little dot by Seattle to get to the videos:

Daryl,
Hey, it sounds like you're having a grand ol' time at your new position. If we come out to visit, can we schedule a tour of the facilities like we did at Mesa? Do you remember how I was like a kid at Disneyland when you took me through the composites shop?! ;-) I know how you feel brother!!! :-)
The photos of the waterfalls are beautiful. I can only imagine how many other gorgeous vistas you encounter on a daily basis.
Take care,
Albert
