Boulder River Hike

Oh wow - it was incredible! This past Sunday we went with our friend Tom hiking the Boulder River Trail. It's relatively flat and a pretty easy hike. We got there about 9am... most of the way you are pretty high above the river, but it's running so fast you can hear really well. Then, out of the blue, you just happen upon a 200-300 foot waterfall with a perfect viewing location on the trail. It was just beautiful! There are some smaller, steeper trails down to the river bank where you can get within about 50-100 feet of the waterfall. We played around down there, then went a little further up the main trail before turning around and stopping back at the waterfall for our snacks. Here's a few photos, but click here to see the rest. How far from our house you ask? About an hour drive. I still pinch myself saying "We live here!!!!".
Click the play arrow above to see a video of the falls

Daryl's friend Tom took this photo - right at the start of the hike.
